Condition-based maintenance (CBM) is a maintenance strategy that monitors the actual condition of the vehicle.

ZedOne’s  Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) programme operates on the premise that maintenance should only be performed when certain indicators show signs of decreasing performance or upcoming failure.

The goal of condition based maintenance is to spot upcoming equipment failure so maintenance can be proactively scheduled when it is needed – and not before. Most motor manufacturers provide a recommended oil replacement schedule based on their experience but this is not based on the actual condition of the oil.

  • CBM is performed (i.e. oil sampling)  while the vehicle is working, which lowers disruptions to normal operations
  • Reduces the cost of failures and improves reliability
  •  Minimises unscheduled downtime
  • Reduces time spent on maintenance
  •  Lowers overtime costs by scheduling the activities
  •  Optimised maintenance intervals (more optimal than manufacturer recommendations)
  •  Requires less staff/labour time.
